Jeff Koons Appears to Be the ‘Distinguished Collector’ Offering $100 M. in Old and Modern Masters at Christie’s

Preview, no result yet: ARTnews reports that Jeff Koons appears to be the seller of nine works worth about $100 million at Christie's New York, though the house hasn't confirmed this. Seven go on the block in the November 17 20th-century sale, led by Picasso's Le Baiser (1969) at a $40 million estimate, and the two Old Masters follow in 2027. The house reportedly guaranteed a minimum price.

Strong Hong Kong Evening Sales, Totaling a Combined $223.6 M., Mask Key Hurdles in Asia’s Art Market

The September 28-30 Hong Kong modern and contemporary evening sales at Christie's, Sotheby's and Phillips totaled $223.6 million, up $58.7 million from $164.9 million in spring. Sotheby's single-owner Joe Lewis Foujita sale made $8.7 million, topped by $3.38 million for Le rêve (Hommage à La Fontaine). Christie's had a perfect sell-through only after withdrawing two major lots.
